Have a Question?

Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction forms students in lives of compassionate, discerning listening to God, others, and themselves. Through contemplative practices, readings and discussions focused on spiritual formation, and experiences of receiving and giving spiritual direction individually and in groups, students are shaped for their own deepening life with God and to accompany others on similar paths.

Sustainable Faith’s goal is to make spiritual direction a normal and widely available form of pastoral care inside and outside churches. The centerpiece of the School of Spiritual Direction is a two year certificate program that prepares you to serve as a spiritual director.

Year 1

Our Year 1 training cohorts meet in person in over two dozen North American cities as well as online and in a hybrid format.

Year 2

Our Year 2 cohorts also meet online, in-person, and in a hybrid format.

Primer

Our Primer cohorts, which also have both in-person and online options, are for those wanting a preparation year to focus on personal spiritual formation.

Year 3

For those who have completed two years of spiritual direction training, we offer a Year 3 option for ongoing professional development.
