Overview

So just what is Sustainable Faith?
We’re a ministry, and our mission is to create a “culture of sustainability” among leaders of churches and non-profit organizations. We reach out to both established and emerging leaders and we serve across denominational lines. Think of us as a resource to those who serve in these demanding ways.
In order to build this sustainable culture, we (1) introduce leaders to the contemplative life so that they can live active, fruitful lives; (2) foster “conversations of consequence” around the topic of personal and group communal health; and (3) provide quiet settings in which to recuperate and gain perspective (e.g., The Convent).
Consequently our goals are to (1) establish other “hospitality houses” around the country, places to which leaders can get away for rest, perspective and conversation; (2) plant “schools of spiritual direction” in urban centers; and (3) create “pastor cohorts” who covenant to observe a “rules of life” together.
Our joy is to be with you and share what we have, which includes our convent, our church family and our neighborhood. Content. Space. Relationship. We hope that your relationship with us will be the equivalent of slow food in an age of fast religion.
Peace to you,
Dave Nixon
